Exterior Repaint and Restain - Manhattan Custom Home
Background:
This homeowner built his family’s dream home years ago, but the unpainted prefabricated siding had begun fading and showing signs of water damage. The wood siding, trim, soffits, fascia, posts, and beams were sun-bleached, dried out, and in urgent need of sealing to prevent further deterioration.
Considerations:
This project required a unique approach due to the mix of painted siding and stained wood, as well as the severe weathering of the exterior. The large scale of the home—including a chimney rising nearly 50 feet above the patio—added complexity and demanded specialized equipment and planning.
Process:
We completed extensive prep work, including scraping, spot priming, and sealing thousands of joints and seams. Multiple heavy coats of pigmented stain were worked into the wood to restore color and protection, while the siding was carefully hand-painted with clean “French cut” lines for a sharp, professional finish.
