Moonlight Condos Interior
Background: Located near the base of Iron Horse lift at Big Sky, these spacious condos serve as a perfect ski house. The owners of a few of these condos stay in them for part of the year and rent them out on Airbnb the rest of the time. The interior of the condos was feeling dated and boring as they were painted beige years ago. The bland color and scuffed-up old paint job wasn't up to standard anymore. Working alongside interior designers and the homeowners, our winter interior painting crew refreshed a few of the condos.
Process: The condos all include an open concept main floor with numerous bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. Closely following the blueprints provided by the team of designers, we used a total of 6 different colors and products throughout the homes. We started by masking off everything adjacent to any window trim, door trim, and baseboards. We used fine finish tips and a low pressure pump to evenly and neatly spray a fresh coat of satin enamel paint to all of the baseboards. We then painted all the ceilings with standard flat white paint to really create a blank canvas to work with. After both the trim and ceilings were complete and dry, we began systematically cutting and rolling all the walls in the home with each respective color. Once we had both coats finished and all the tape pulled, we cleaned the home to make sure we left it better than we found it. This included vacuuming all the carpet, sweeping all the floors, and cleaning off surfaces with disinfectant. Our crews then reorganized all the furniture and decorations within the finished home to the same orientation it was when we arrived based on photos taken at the beginning of the project.
